About this line
The F3 is a Sergey Shirogorov liner lock folder introduced in 2011, a year after the F95. It pairs G10, micarta or carbon fiber scales over full titanium liners with a titanium liner lock carrying a hardened stainless steel insert; the handle is thicker than the F95's and every F3 has a backspacer. It is the entry production model in the range. The earliest factory mention is a February 2014 notice closing orders for the Hati and F3. The pivot moved from SRBS to MRBS, and the current serial configuration, on sale from November 2017 under the Three Bears name, pairs Elmax with Alutex scales. Named additions include the F3 NS of February 2020, the 50-piece F3 Outdoor of June 2023, and the Elements editions with TechnoCarbo scales: Aquatic in Vanax 37 (December 2022), Terrus in S90V (May 2023), Ignis in M390 (July 2023) and Aerum in Elmax (September 2023). Custom Division F3s run on SRRBS, among them a 50-piece bolstered F3-B in Damasteel Vinland and a 50-piece F3 NS CD. The clip is 3D-machined titanium, tip-up and right-hand only. The line is current.

Questions about the F3
What stops the rear body screw spinning on the F3 Elements editions?
A triangular end on the rear body screw seats in a matching triangular cut, so the screw does not spin when the knife is taken apart. All four F3 Elements editions have this screw: the F3 Aquatic, F3 Terrus, F3 Ignis and F3 Aerum.
How do you tell the four F3 Elements editions apart?
The pivot collars tell them apart: light blue on the F3 Aquatic, bronze on the F3 Terrus, gold on the F3 Ignis and silver on the F3 Aerum. The scales also tell them apart: Deep Sea TechnoCarbo on the F3 Aquatic, Rare Earth on the F3 Terrus, Phoenix Wing on the F3 Ignis and Northern Wind on the F3 Aerum.
Do the F3 Elements editions have a hidden clip screw?
Yes. The clip on the F3 Aquatic, F3 Terrus, F3 Ignis and F3 Aerum sits on a hidden screw, a change from the serial F3 NS.
How is the F3-B CD handle built?
The F3-B CD handle has a titanium bolster at the front and a contoured Lightning Strike carbon fiber scale at the rear. A tongue on the carbon fiber scale fits into the bolster in a dovetail joint. The scale also reaches into the cut-out windows of the liner, so the scale stays in place when the rear body screw is out.
What details identify an F3-B CD?
The F3-B CD has a Vinland Damasteel blade with a wider belly and a cutout with a hump. The pivot collar and backspacer are zirconium, and the Custom Division logo is laser engraved in white. The Shirogorov logo sits on the titanium bolster, inside its milling pattern.
How was the F3-B CD first sold?
The F3-B CD came out in 2018 and was sold through the Custom Division lottery.
