About this line
The Quantum began as a Sergey Shirogorov custom, won Best Tactical Knife at Blade Show Atlanta in 2019, and moved into the Custom Division that year, with a Damasteel Sprint Run named in the same June announcement. The first serial Quantum, the Quantum 3M, went on sale 21 March 2020 in the Three Bears category, on MRBS over hardened steel washers. Where the F95 and Hati carry drop points, the Quantum has an upswept, Persian-style blade with a full flat grind on a handle slimmer than the F95's, with milling patterns designed for the model; all models except the Ursus have a backspacer. Quantum Gen.2 followed on 18 September 2021. The Ursus tier arrived with the Quantum Ursus NL on 9 December 2021, on SRBS, and the base Quantum Ursus with G10 or wood inlays on 6 April 2022; the Quantum Ursus Lefty of 22 July 2023 was the factory's third left-handed model. A 100-piece Quantum Ti BB in blue anodized titanium appeared in 2024. Custom Division Quantums run on SRRBS in runs of 50, including a Bronze CD in Vanadis 10. The line is current.

Questions about the Quantum
How does the Quantum Ursus NL blade differ from the Quantum 3M blade?
The Quantum Ursus NL blade is machine ground and has no fuller, where the Quantum 3M carries a fuller. The plunge line on the Quantum Ursus NL has a slight curve.
What does the Quantum Ursus NL have in place of a backspacer?
The Quantum Ursus NL has a triangular steel standoff with a satin polish in place of a backspacer. Three titanium pins at the rear of the handle guard the blade tip.
How does the pivot screw tell a Quantum Ursus NL from a Quantum 3M?
The Quantum 3M has a larger pivot screw with a stepped slot, and the Quantum Ursus NL released in December 2021 has the older, normal size screw. The stepped slot stops the bit slipping out and scratching the titanium, and the larger screw still takes the same Shirogorov bit.
How can you identify a Quantum Bronze CD?
The Quantum Bronze CD has a fine hexagon pattern laser engraved on the fuller and repeated on the flipper tab. Its handle milling follows the titanium Quantum pattern with the lines running diagonally, and the pivot collars and backspacer are bronze.
Where is the logo on a Quantum 3M and on a Quantum Bronze CD?
The Quantum 3M carries the logo at the rear end of the handle, in the pommel area. The Quantum Bronze CD carries the logo on the backspacer.
