About this line

The IceBreaker (Ledokol) began as a Sergey Shirogorov custom on the F95 base, announced on 2014-12-15, with a 5 mm ZDP-189 blade. In July 2018 that custom was one of nine workshop knives carried on the International Round-the-World Oceanic Flight, an expedition of amphibious aircraft that left Samara and flew along the Arctic Circle through Alaska, Canada, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Finland, honoring the American crew lost in 1929 and the Soviet pilots who flew the searches. The limited project knife dedicated to the flight went on sale on 2021-04-24 in a run of 100, sold in Russia and the United States. It keeps the custom's anodized titanium handle with its milled pattern and worn pattern edges that read as two-tone, the logo above and left of the pivot, and a clip on a hidden screw, now patterned to match. The blade is M390, 95 mm and 4 mm thick, with fullers, jimping and bevels nearly from the spine; the handle and backspacer are thinner than the custom's. Internal handle pockets follow the latest F95 generation and the pivot is MRBS. Each knife ships with a commemorative bead showing one of the expedition aircraft.
