RJ Martin is an American custom knife maker whose Shirogorov collaborations include the Russian Overkill and the ROK Molten Overkill Custom Division piece.
Design work
Martin’s flagship custom folder is the Overkill, a recurve-bladed flipper that became a reference design in the custom folder market. His work carries a working-knife orientation: full-height grinds, aggressive blade profiles, and construction geared toward heavy use rather than pocket jewelry.
Shirogorov collaborations
The Russian Overkill, a serialized Shirogorov and RJ Martin collaboration limited to 200 pieces, replaced the Overkill’s recurve with a straight drop point and paired it with Shirogorov’s Multi-Row Bearing System. The ROK Molten Overkill, produced through the Custom Division, is a full-custom execution of the platform.
