Overview
The Hati is the F95’s blade and frame lock on a handle with a titanium lock side and a carbon fiber or G10 show side, which cuts about a quarter of the weight; the name means half titanium. It arrived circa 2012 and runs to three generations. Gen 1 is on bronze washers. Gen 2, sold from 2017 as the HatiR, is on MRBS. Gen 3, from May 2022, has a TechnoCarbo show scale, a matching inlay on the lock side, a slimmer profile and the first CPS pivot on a serial model. On a listing the first question is which generation, and the second is whether it’s a Hati at all, since the HatiOn is a NeOn-platform knife that only shares the name.
The blade is the F95’s 95 mm drop point with a full flat grind and a stonewash finish, 4.0 mm on the first two generations and 3.5 mm on Gen 3. Steels were M390 and S90V on Gen 1, with Cronidur 30 added on Gen 2 and M398 as an option on Gen 3; the current factory Gen 3 is M390 at 110 g. The Gen 3 Slim, a run of 100 in M398, is the lightest Hati made. Factory specifications for every model in the line are on the Hati record.

Production history
- Circa 2012: the Hati goes on sale on bronze phosphor washers, with carbon fiber or blue G10 show scales, in M390 and S90V.
- April 2014: the Hati 3D Seashell, the first identifiable Custom Division model, on double-row rollers (DRRBS); six were awarded by lottery on the opening day of the Arsenal exhibition.
- 2017: Gen 2, sold as the HatiR, moves to MRBS, with revised handle contouring and internal milling, carbon fiber weaves, colored G10 and Alutex special editions; Cronidur 30 added. The line then left serial production for several years.
- 14 May 2022: Gen 3, with a TechnoCarbo show scale and a matching inlay on the lock side, a slimmer profile, the blade thinned from 4.0 mm to 3.5 mm, and the CPS pivot; M398 added as an option.
- Gen 3 Slim: 100 pieces in M398, with reduced blade stock, maximized internal milling and lightened hardware.
- Custom Division runs: Hati CD in Vanadis 10; Hati-3 CD in S90V; Hati 3D Bronze, also listed as the Hati CD Bronze, 50 pieces, first offered at Blade Show 2018; Hati CD Magnetic, 50 pieces, on SRRBS with the PLDS (Pivot Load Distribution System) pivot.
- September 2025: Hati CGG in blue Alutex, a collaboration edition with a titanium inlay on the show scale by Chris Reeve Knives and a MagnaCut blade.
Variants
Generation 1
Circa 2012 to 2017. The original Hati ran on bronze phosphor washers rather than bearings, with carbon fiber show scales in the common configuration and blue G10 on others, in M390 or S90V, at 119 to 125 g.
Generation 2 (HatiR)
From 2017 under the factory name HatiR: the washers replaced by MRBS, the handle contouring and internal milling revised, and the show side widened to carbon fiber weaves, colored G10 and special editions in Alutex. Cronidur 30 joined M390 and S90V. 111 to 119 g. The R and Gen 2 name the same knife.
Generation 3
From May 2022, the current model: a TechnoCarbo show scale with a matching inlay on the titanium side, a slimmer profile, a 3.5 mm blade, a redesigned interior and the CPS pivot, at 110 g in M390. M398 is the other steel; the steels page has the factory’s hardness bands. The later Gen 3 pieces carry 3D-milled carbon on the show side where the first ones carried a random weave.
Generation 3 Slim
A run of 100 in M398 on the Gen 3: the blade stock reduced, the internal milling maximized and the hardware lightened, with a carbon fiber show side on MRBS.
Custom Division Hatis
The Hati 3D Seashell of April 2014 is the first Custom Division model and one of the few CD pieces on double-row rollers, in S90V under carbon fiber and Silver Twill. The Hati-3 CD in S90V on PVD titanium, the Hati 3D Bronze, also listed as the Hati CD Bronze (50 pieces, first offered at Blade Show 2018, carbon fiber with copper and bronze) and the Hati CD Magnetic (50 pieces, with the PLDS pivot) run single-row rollers, and the Hati CD in Vanadis 10 under carbon fiber sits beside them. The Custom Division FAQ covers the tier.
Hati CGG
A collaboration edition of September 2025 in blue Alutex: CGG is Computer Generated Graphic, a titanium inlay on the presentation scale done by Chris Reeve Knives, on a MagnaCut blade. It sits with the other partner projects on How the collaborations work.
HatiOn
Often filed under Hati because of the name, and not a Hati: a NeOn-platform knife with one carbon fiber scale and the clip side in titanium, and a 3.375 inch blade, about 83 to 85 mm rather than 95 mm. The HatiOn Lite is the same build, also with a carbon fiber scale. Both are on the NeOn overview.
Authentication
What to check on a Hati, in the order a buyer can check it.
The box and the certificate carry the serial. Most Hatis have no engraved serial; the original box and the certificate of authenticity (COA) are the record. A Custom Division Hati also carries its markings inside, on the scales and/or the backspacer, with a CD mark beside the bear head.
One titanium side, one show side, 95 mm. The lock side is titanium and the show side is carbon fiber, G10, Alutex or TechnoCarbo. Two titanium scales is an F95; one carbon scale on a blade of about 83 to 85 mm is a HatiOn. The lock side carries the HATI designation.
The pivot tells the generation and the tier. Bronze washers mean Gen 1. MRBS means Gen 2 or Gen 3. A Custom Division Hati runs SRRBS, a single row of loose rollers per side; the 3D Seashell is on double-row rollers (DRRBS), and a DRRBS claim on any other Hati that isn’t one of Sergey’s full customs (the Hati Baikal is one) is a claim to check twice. A duck foot pivot belongs only to Sergey’s full customs.
The CPS screw marks Gen 3. The rear of the pivot screw is formed as a gear that keys into cutouts in the handle. Gen 3 was the first serial model to carry it, so a Gen 3 without it is a question for the seller.
Slotted screws only. Every Hati takes the workshop’s slotted hardware. Torx screws mean someone has replaced the hardware, or the knife isn’t what it says.
The show scale names the generation. Carbon fiber or blue G10 on a washer pivot is Gen 1; carbon weaves, colored G10 or Alutex on MRBS with a 4.0 mm blade is Gen 2, and blue Alutex with a titanium inlay on a MagnaCut blade is the Hati CGG of 2025; TechnoCarbo with a matching inlay on the titanium side is Gen 3, and the 3.5 mm blade confirms it.
The per-tier checklist, the photographs to ask for and the remote-buying rules are on the authentication guide.
Telling the generations apart
The pivot, the show scale and the blade do the work. Washers mean Gen 1. MRBS with a plain carbon or G10 show scale and a 4.0 mm blade means Gen 2, the HatiR. MRBS with a TechnoCarbo scale, an inlay on the lock side, a 3.5 mm blade and the CPS screw means Gen 3. The Slim is a Gen 3 in M398 with lighter hardware and less blade stock, and the box and certificate name it.
Pricing and collecting
Prices are in the price record; the questions a buyer asks before paying are on the Buying FAQ. On a Hati listing the generation is the first question, and the Gen 3 Slim, a run of 100, and the Custom Division runs are the limited ones. A HatiOn belongs to the NeOn line, and its prices are on the NeOn record.
