Special editions

The themed one-time editions of the serial lines: the Elements series on the F3 and the 111, the Outdoor pair, and the IceBreaker, with what each one is.

On this page

A special edition is a serial line built once, in a theme, with its own steel, scales and hardware, and sold as a limited run. The factory announces each as a one-time modification of the serial model; dealers list them as Special Editions. They sit beside, not inside, the Sprint Runs, the Custom Division runs and the collaborations, and the anniversary editions have their own page. Each knife is on the model catalog.

The Elements series

The Elements are four themed editions, water, earth, fire and air, each with a blade steel, a TechnoCarbo scale material, anodized or polished hardware and a bead chosen for the theme. The series ran first on the F3, from December 2022 to September 2023, and then on the 111, from October 2024 to July 2025. The same four themes and the same four scale materials carry across both platforms, so an F3 Terrus and a 111 Terrus share their Rare Earth TechnoCarbo, their S90V blade and their earth-pattern bead.

Theme Edition Scales Blade steel Hardware Run
Water Aquatic Deep Sea TechnoCarbo, blues and black Vanax 37 blue anodized spacer and clip —
Earth Terrus Rare Earth TechnoCarbo, layered like terrain from the air S90V anodized to match the scales —
Fire Ignis Phoenix Wing TechnoCarbo, red, orange and yellow on gray and black M390 gold anodized spacer and clip, red lanyard —
Air Aerum Northern Wind TechnoCarbo, cold tones Elmax polished stonewash spacer and clip —

Every Elements knife ships with a lanyard, blue on the Aquatic and red on the Ignis, and a titanium bead finished like its hardware, anodized on the Aquatic, Terrus and Ignis and polished stonewash on the Aerum: the workshop logo over a pattern of the element on one face, the slot of the pivot screw on the other. The F3 Aerum’s bead carries a bear over a wind pattern instead of the logo. On the F3 editions the pivot collars are anodized to match the spacer and clip.

F3 Elements, 2022 to 2023

The F3 editions are one-time modifications of the F3 NS: a 95 mm blade 4.0 mm thick, titanium liners with TechnoCarbo scales, a liner lock, the MRBS pivot with the CPS anti-rotation system, and a handle 128 mm long and 15 mm thick. Each weighs 141 g with lanyard and bead (the Aquatic 142 g). The scales carry jimping that reads as ripples on the Aquatic and as wind on the Aerum.

Edition Released Blade steel Run Record
F3 Aquatic 26 December 2022 Vanax 37 — F3 Aquatic
F3 Terrus 13 May 2023 S90V — F3 Terrus
F3 Ignis 15 July 2023 M390 — F3 Ignis
F3 Aerum 16 September 2023 Elmax — F3 Aerum

The Aquatic opened the series with a blade in Vanax 37, chosen for its corrosion resistance, and, unlike the serial F3 NS, it carries the CPS pivot. The Terrus followed as its twin in S90V with a wide jimped spine. The Ignis, in M390, is the brightest of the four. The Aerum, in Elmax, completed the set; its polished stonewash spacer and clip are lighter in tone than the standard stonewash.

111 Elements, 2024 to 2025

The 111 editions are one-time modifications of the 111 Gen 5.1: a 111 mm blade 3.5 mm thick with a through fuller, a false edge and spine jimping that echoes the backspacer cutouts; titanium liners with TechnoCarbo scales; a liner lock whose plate stands slightly proud of the scales for an easier release; the MRBS pivot; a handle 142 mm long and 14 mm thick; 250 mm overall; and 146 g with lanyard and bead. The Terrus changed the shape of the through fuller, so the Elements blade differs visibly from the Gen 5.1 blade, and the later three keep that shape. The Aquatic carries the three-row version of the MRBS.

Edition Released Blade steel Run Record
111 Terrus 19 October 2024 S90V — 111 Terrus
111 Aerum 18 January 2025 Elmax — 111 Aerum
111 Ignis 22 March 2025 M390 — 111 Ignis
111 Aquatic 19 July 2025 Vanax 37 — 111 Aquatic

The 111 ran the themes in a different order, earth, air, fire, water, and the factory announced the Aquatic as the knife that closed the 111 Elements project.

The Outdoor pair

The Outdoor editions are field knives rather than themed dress pieces. The 111 Outdoor came first; the F3 Outdoor followed on 17 June 2023 in a run of 50. The F3 Outdoor has a CroMax PM blade, 95 mm and 3.5 mm thick, in the shape of the updated F95NL with high grinds and spine jimping; green G10 scales with flush orange G10 inserts over pocketed titanium liners; a titanium backspacer that covers the tip when closed; the MRBS pivot; a handle 128 mm long and 14.5 mm thick; and a weight of 125 g. In place of a clip it ships with a sheath by Dmitry Sinkevich that mounts vertically or horizontally. F3 Outdoor record.

The IceBreaker

The IceBreaker of 2021, a run of 100 on the F95 base in M390 with the anodized and milled handle of Sergey Shirogorov’s 2014 custom of the same name, is a special edition dealers list with the F95, and it is on the anniversary editions page with the flight it commemorates. IceBreaker record.

What is not a special edition

The label covers a serial line in a one-time themed build. It does not cover knives that are scarce or themed for other reasons. The Sprint Runs are an uncataloged tier of their own; the First Production runs open a new line rather than dress an existing one; the Custom Division runs, including the CDX, are a tier above serial; and the Strip family and the other collaborations are designer projects. The BearPattern configurations and the show exclusives are serial configurations and show pieces, listed on the line overviews and the anniversary editions page.

For collectors

An Elements set is eight knives, four per platform, and the themes pair across the two: the F3 and the 111 in the same element share scales and steel, and the bead pattern matches on three of the four, the F3 Aerum’s bear being the exception. The factory dates and the steels above are the checks a listing needs to pass; the scales are the fastest tell, since each TechnoCarbo material belongs to one theme only. Elements knives sold with their lanyard and bead, and listings that lack them are incomplete. The authentication guide covers the box and certificate; the price record carry the prices.
