The Sinkevich projects

Every Shirogorov x Sinkevich model in the order the factory numbered them, Nura to Pike, with the specifications, run sizes and dated releases in one table and the story of each knife below it.

On this page

Every knife the workshop has built to a Dmitry Sinkevich design, in the order the factory announced them, with the specifications and the run of each in one table and the story of each knife below. The register of all the workshop’s collaborations, with the other designers, is on The collaborations.

Dmitry Sinkevich, the Belarusian designer from Minsk, has been the workshop’s partner since 2010, longer than anyone else. The factory numbers its Sinkevich projects; the Kami Flipper is the eleventh. The Nura was first and the Dark second, both in 2010, and the Tetra of 2011 third. The Koordinal, the CannaBis and the TechnoBamboo of 2012 and 2013 were fourth, fifth and sixth, the PoluchOtkiy of 2014 seventh and the Jeans of 2015 eighth. The Sigma of 2016 was ninth, the Pero of 2019 tenth, the Kami Flipper of 2021 eleventh and the Bio of 2022 twelfth. The three Strips of 2025 and the Pike of 2026 follow without a factory number. A collector who knows the later projects from the dealers meets a numbering that starts higher than expected, because it counts the earlier projects announced on the factory news feed from August 2010.

The Sinkevich Touch sets, the workshop’s own models with Sinkevich’s finish sold at the California Custom Knife Show, are show editions rather than joint designs and are on the Touch sets page.

Nura (2010), the first project

The Nura was the first Shirogorov and Sinkevich collaboration, a minimalist flipper in a run of ten, announced by the factory on 12 August 2010. It has an S90V blade on a full flat grind, a titanium handle, a pronounced flipper tab, and a pivot screw drawn from the power button on Sinkevich’s computer. One of the ten was lost and another broken; eight survive. It is not the Kershaw Nura, an unrelated mass-production design.

Dark (2010), the second

Four days after the Nura came the Dark, a liner lock on washers with an 89 mm blade on a 121 mm handle, in a run of 100 plus two prototypes with G10 overlays and Kh12MF blades. Three configurations: S90V under carbon fiber overlays, S30V under G10, ATS-34 under G10. It is a different knife from the 2022 Bio, whose Bio Dark colorway is sometimes confused with it.

Tetra (2011), the third

The Tetra’s project start was announced on 27 June 2011, with assembly following on 30 September 2011. It is the Kontrastny’s older brother: a longer blade, new geometry and, unlike the Dark, a flipper from the first sketch. The run was 100 knives plus two prototypes with G10 scales and Kh12MF blades. Five configurations paired satin or stonewashed blades in ATS-34, S30V or S90V with textured black G10 or carbon fiber scales over titanium liners, on a 135 mm handle. The G10 configurations ran on washers with plain hardware, the carbon fiber ones on a distance bushing with milled hardware, and the repositionable titanium clip is bent sheet on most configurations and fully milled on the top one.

Koordinal (2012), the fourth

The Koordinal (also written Coordinal) was announced on 13 December 2012 and built in a run of 65 for a group of collectors on the Guns.ru forum, who asked Sinkevich to draw a folder and Sergey Shirogorov to make it. Sinkevich’s first sketch was made on a note in a Minsk trolleybus, and the blade was shortened while the design was adapted for small-series production. It is a titanium frame lock on MRBS with a ZDP-189 blade, 220 mm overall, with 3D-milled geometric scales, a titanium spacer carrying a moonglow insert and a tip-up titanium clip. It was the first collaboration to reach collectors beyond the workshop’s own following.

CannaBis (2013), the fifth

Announced on 26 December 2012 as the project for 2013, the CannaBis is a sturdy folder for the outdoors with a thick handle that fills the hand, a liner lock under Micarta, G10 or carbon fiber overlays. The main run of 200 came in three configurations, True, Real and Ice, which differ in steel, scales, pivot and grind, after a clipless pilot batch of ten; the TNK Edition of 100 numbered pieces followed for the US shop TNK, and the Mini CannaBis of July 2016, a run of 54 for Born in Vegas Cards V, is a later knife on the same line. The name comes from the hemp Micarta on Sinkevich’s original custom. Each configuration, and the Mini, is on the CannaBis page.

TechnoBamboo (2013), the sixth

The TechnoBamboo is a front flipper with variable handle geometry: the rear section turns on a connecting joint and locks in one of three positions. Bamboo stems inspired the name and the milling of the titanium frame lock. The Vanax 35 blade has a transverse satin finish, the handle is 117 mm with a blue anodized backspacer and a tip-up clip, and the pivot is MRBS. The factory announced it on 6 October 2013 as a blitz project of ten knives, each with an original bronze key. Six went by lottery to club members at the Arms and Hunting show, two were auctioned among club members on the factory site, and one each stayed with Sinkevich and the workshop.

PoluchOtkiy (2014), the seventh

Announced on 28 April 2014 as the joint project of that year, the PoluchOtkiy followed with its first batch on 17 November 2014, in a run of 200 plus six prototypes. It marked a return to the pair’s usual projects after the TechnoBamboo and was their first pronounced Persian-style folder. The M390 blade sits on a titanium frame lock with a steel insert, on MRBS; the 140 mm handle is bead blasted with textured milling and internal pockets, with a blue anodized backspacer and a blue anodized tip-up clip.

Jeans (2015), the eighth

A lottery entry announced on 27 October 2015, the Jeans ran to 200 plus six prototypes with M390 blades. It followed the PoluchOtkiy as a second Persian-style blade with a different look and feel, in Vanax 37 on a titanium frame lock and MRBS, with a tip-up clip. It was the pair’s first joint work with complex two-tone anodizing and the first model with a figured fuller on the blade. The fuller is on one side only, because Sinkevich’s original Jeans had no flipper tab and was meant to be opened with it. The 123 mm titanium handle is blue anodized and milled to suggest denim, with a gold anodized backspacer and clip in the manner of jeans hardware.

Sigma (2016), the ninth

The factory presented the Sigma on 14 October 2016 and ran the lottery on 16 October 2017, in a run of 200 plus six prototypes. Carbon fiber scales over titanium liners and a thin titanium backspacer bring it to 88 g on a 130 mm handle. The M390 blade is upswept on a full flat grind, on a liner lock with a steel insert and MRBS, with a bead-blasted tip-up clip. At 88 g under a 100 mm blade it is one of the workshop’s lightest knives, and it was the pair’s first with a miniature but working flipper tab.

Pero (2019), the tenth

Pero, Russian for feather, was announced by the factory on 21 January 2019 as a closed series of 200 plus six prototypes, allocated by lottery among members of the factory community; 100 went to the US market and 100 to Russia. It is a light folder at 95 g on a 125 mm handle, and the carbon fiber over titanium liners follows Sinkevich’s idea that a knife with this name should be as light as possible. The Vanax 37 blade has fullers on both sides and a pike-style tip that recalls a Finnish puukko, on a liner lock with a steel insert and MRBS, 220 mm overall, with a long titanium backspacer and a sculpted tip-up clip on hidden screws.

Kami Flipper (2021), the eleventh

The Kami Flipper is the eleventh project of the workshop with Sinkevich, announced on 2 March 2021 as a closed series of 300 plus seven prototypes, allocated by lottery to community members and individually numbered. The design had only recently appeared among Sinkevich’s own knives; the name is the Japanese word for gods or divine nature, from Shinto. The S110V blade has a complex asymmetric grind with a large secondary bevel and a swedge, on a titanium frame lock with a steel insert and MRBS, in a 117 mm titanium handle with an original milled pattern, 204 mm overall. The reversible clip doubles as the rear standoff joining the scales and has a lanyard hole, and the pivot and clip screws are blue anodized.

Bio (2022), the twelfth

Announced on 5 November 2022 as the project after the Kami Flipper, the Bio was released through Recon1 lotteries in a run of 300 split evenly into Light and Dark configurations of 150 each, individually numbered. The name comes from biodesign, and the 129 mm titanium scales are deeply milled with a pattern that is fine around the pivot and grows larger toward the rear; the pivot head is shaped after a flower pistil. The M398 blade has high flat bevels and a swedge, stonewashed on the bevels and swedge with satin flats, on a titanium frame lock and MRBS, 223 mm overall. The scales are joined by only two screws, the pivot and a through screw that also holds the clip, and the backspacer carries a lanyard hole. In the Light configuration the handle is unanodized and the screws, clip and backspacer are anodized dark gray; the Dark configuration reverses this. The Bio Dark is a different knife from the 2010 Dark.

Fat Strip (2025)

The Fat Strip, announced on 8 February 2025 in a run of 150, is the first of three 2025 projects on Sinkevich’s Strip design, which draws on Japanese working knives like the higonokami. Its MagnaCut blade has a complex grind with a pronounced swedge and, at 5.0 mm at the spine, is the thickest blade the workshop had put in a limited run. The bevels are stonewashed with satin flats, on a liner lock and MRBS, 200 mm overall. The asymmetric bronze anodized titanium scales, 115 mm long, combine concave and convex surfaces and milled texture; a long jimped titanium backspacer covers the blade tip, the clip mounts on a hidden screw, and the show-side pivot carries a cross in a circle.

Fit Strip (2025)

The Fit Strip, announced on 26 April 2025 in a run of 300, keeps the Fat Strip’s dimensions and thins the blade and handle. The MagnaCut blade is 3.5 mm thick with higher, more traditional bevels, stonewashed with satin flats, at 200 mm overall. The 115 mm bronze anodized handle has a concave show scale and a convex lock scale, the same jimped backspacer and hidden clip mounting as the Fat Strip, and a triangle in a circle on the show-side pivot.

Skinny Strip (2025)

The Skinny Strip, announced on 16 August 2025 in a run of 200, is the third and last of the Strip series. The scales move from titanium to CarboTi over titanium liners on the same 115 mm handle and 200 mm length, and the S90V blade is 2.5 mm thick with stonewashed bevels and satin flats. At 72 g it is the lightest and thinnest folder the workshop has put in a limited run, with the jimped backspacer and hidden clip mounting of the other two Strips. The handle follows the Fit Strip’s pattern and 3D shape, and the pivot runs MRBS with the PLDS (Pivot Load Distribution System). The workshop and Sinkevich logos and the MRBS mark are etched on the blade, and the show-side pivot carries a square in a circle.

Pike (2026)

The Pike was released on 8 August 2026 as a limited series in three colors. Sinkevich’s custom Pike won Best Tactical Folding Knife at Blade Show 2024; the factory showed a prototype at Blade Show 2025 and announced the project there. The MagnaCut blade is a clip point with a pronounced choil and a wide swedge that stops short of the tip, hardened to 63 to 64 HRC. The bevels are stonewashed with hand-applied longitudinal satin on the flats, on a liner lock with a steel insert and MRBS, 220 mm overall. The 123 mm handle is two titanium liners with full-length carbon fiber inserts, held by the pivot screw, a small titanium insert and the clip rather than glued. The three versions differ in the pigment of the inserts, white, blue and red, and a colored dot on the small titanium insert marks the version. The dark gray anodized backspacer carries an elongated lanyard slot and the clip is shaped to the handle silhouette. The run is 300, 100 of each color, numbered 1 to 300 and released by lottery in three parts.
